Halloween Fun

Today we had planned on surprising all the grandparents and aunts and uncles with Mila all dressed up in her lamb costume...it was a GREAT plan. She woke up VERY grumpy and after a little playtime (or fuss time rather) on the floor Jeremy said she felt a little warm. I took her temp and sure enough, she had a low-grade temp. We decided it wasn't a good idea to drag her up to Peoria all day so we stayed home. Luckily, when she woke up from her morning nap the temp was gone and she was in better spirits. I think the tooth fairy will be visiting us again soon to bring us her two top teeth.

I was too cheap to buy a Halloween outfit so I made her one!
(Tina, do you recognize the fabrics)

Seven Months Old

It's hard to believe that Mila is already SEVEN months old today!  Over the past month she has started eating fruits, including plums, bananas, and applesauce.  She wasn't so fond of bananas so we only had those once.  She continues to love her veggies, especially butternut squash and green beans.  This month Mila began sitting up straight, army crawling, and giggling more!

Family and 6 Month Picture Preview

A few weeks ago we had our first professional family picture taken, along with Mila's 6 month pictures.  We just went to Sears because Mila freezes when the camera comes out.  It is very difficult many times to grab her attention to get a smile so until this phase passes, I refuse to send a lot of money at a fancy studio.  I was also able to buy the CD so I can edit the pictures as I want!

Pretty Mila

Almost a smile!
I wish she would have been in her dress!

I love this one!

At 6 weeks she fit on this same pillow laying down!!

I caught the bug...the quilting bug!

My sister Tina has been quilting for several years now and to be honest, I never knew what all the fuss was about. She would show me her beautiful creations and I would admire their beauty and think how hard and tedious it looked to put together! Well, a few months ago I found some cute fabric at Walmart of all places and decided to make a quilt for Mila to play on during her time on the floor. I searched the internet for an easy pattern and put it together. I had so much fun and was happy with the results...mistakes and all! I decided with a lot of practice I too could quilt and someday create beautiful quilts like my sister! I am so excited to share my first FIVE quilts and a pillow (created during Mommy time...better known as Mila nap time!) I'm finding this to be a very relaxing hobby and once you learn some tricks, it is a lot easier than it looks! And I have a GREAT big sister teacher!

My first MODA quilt!
It is on the back of our couch for fall.

I am TOTALLY spoiling someone's Christmas/1st Birthday present but I couldn't resist.
It still needs to be quilted and bound...I hope she likes it!!  I used her mommy's favorite color!

My sister got me a MODA jellyroll for my birthday.
This is what I created...this will be on the back of our couch for the Christmas season!
(still waiting for borders, quilting, and binding)

And we're off...

Jeremy and Mila were playing on the floor Sunday night while I was cooking dinner when she decided to go after the remote! I was so excited for Jeremy to be able to experience one of her "firsts" and tell me about it...too often I'm calling him at work sharing the exciting news! She has been "mobile" for a while rolling wherever she needed to be or scooting backwards but she is now moving forward as well! I was able to coax her into performing for the camera this morning! So far we are only able to army crawl on the hardwood but I'm sure I will be chasing her everywhere in a few more weeks!

Happy Halloween...Preview

I never knew that deciding on a Halloween costume for a child would be so difficult!  This being her first Halloween, I wanted it to be PERFECT!  When she was born, some great friends of ours sent us this ADORABLE TN Titans cheerleader outfit!  I thought that would be very cute and Jeremy and I could dress is our Titans gear too.  Well...for those of you who follow football we are having a less than stellar year (we haven't won a game yet!).  I thought maybe we could just blacken our eyes and we could be the "beaten team"  Then I was looking through a magazine and found a precious costume and the price was right...only $17!  When it came in the mail yesterday I discovered I got an AWESOME deal...the costume is perfect and it is very well made!  Isn't she so cute....hopefully she will say baa baa baa!

I think she likes it!

Such a sweet little lamb!

Welcome! Let us hope this is an easier way!

After many trials and tribulations with other photo sharing websites and failed attempts to share vidoes via email I have decided to create a blog.  I am hoping to keep up with sharing our events on a regular basis...I promise.  So check back often!!

Big smiles to keep you coming back for more!
